Censored Chinese artist s photos coming to NYC

NEW YORK (AP) Photographs by

Chinese artist Liu Xia

(lee-OW' zah) will be shown during

Columbia University

subsequent month. She's a mother of detained

2010 Nobel Peace Prize leader Liu Xiaobo

(Lee-OW' Zawh-BOH').

The photos were smuggled out of China usually before Liu was placed underneath residence detain after her father won a Nobel.

The muster runs from Feb. 9 to Mar

campus. It's a usually U.S. plcae where it'll be held.

Liu's works are censored in her local country.

The array of 25 photos etch life-like dolls in several settings. One shows her father holding a doll. In another, a tied-up doll sits in front of an open book.

The Boulogne (boo-LOHN'-yu) Museum outward Paris exhibited them in a fall.

Liu Xiaobo

was detained in 2009 to 11years for propelling approved reform.
