Clooney gets top honors at Palm Springs film fest

LOS ANGELES (AP) â€" George Clooney is adding another endowment to his collection.

The Palm Springs International Film Festival will benefaction a 50-year-old actor with a Chairman's Award in January.

Festival authority Harold Matzner pronounced Friday that Clooney is "a unqualified actor, director, writer and screenwriter (who has) demonstrated that no fortify within a film attention is over his reach."

He pronounced Clooney is being respected for his opening in "The Descendants," in theaters Friday, and for writing, producing, directing and starring in "The Ides of March," that non-stop final month.

Past recipients of a Chairman's Award embody Ben Affleck, Dustin Hoffman and Nicole Kidman.

Clooney has also won an Academy Award and dual Golden Globes.
